Description
Becoming a Bison Day is an essential step in preparing for your first semester at Bethany. This on-campus experience is open to all accepted and deposited students and is required before moving to campus in the fall.
During this day, you’ll complete important next steps, connect with future classmates, and get a real preview of what your Bethany experience will feel like.
What You’ll Experience
Welcome
Hear from campus leadership as they officially welcome you to the Bethany community and outline what’s ahead.
Student & Parent Panels
Students will join a current-student panel for real, honest conversation about academics, campus life, and what to expect in your first year. Parents will attend a separate Q&A session with campus partners covering safety, support resources, financial aid, and student success.
Commencement Hall Experience
Get a true “Day One” preview:
Take your Student ID photo
Receive your mock first-semester schedule
Log in to your Bethany email
Meet faculty from your department
Connect with student life, athletics, and campus organizations
Community-Building Activities
Meet other incoming students, start conversations, and begin building your Class of 2030 community.
Lunch
Lunch will be provided in the Bethany College cafeteria.

All incoming students must attend at least one Becoming a Bison Day (or Priority Bison Preview Day) before the start of the semester. This ensures you are fully prepared for move-in and your first day of classes.

- Is Becoming a Bison Day required?
Yes. All incoming students must attend at least one Becoming a Bison Day (or Priority Bison Preview Day) before moving to campus. This ensures you are fully prepared for your first semester.
- Are parents required to attend?
Parents/guardians and families are not required to attend, but they are highly encouraged to join. We offer a dedicated parent Q&A session covering safety, support services, financial aid, student success resources, and what to expect during the first year.
- Where should we park?
Parking will be available in the Coal Bowl parking lot. Staff and student ambassadors will be available to direct you to check-in.
- What should we wear?
We recommend nice, comfortable attire. You’ll be walking between buildings and taking your student ID photo, so dress neatly but comfortably.
- Will the bookstore be open?
Yes. The Bethany College Bookstore will be open during the event for anyone who would like to purchase Bethany gear.
- What will students accomplish during the day?
Students will:
Take their Student ID photo
Receive a mock first-semester schedule
Activate their Bethany email
Meet faculty and campus partners
Connect with other incoming students
By the end of the day, you’ll feel prepared and ready for move-in.
